Announcement on Standard Transition and Certificate Validity Arrangements for Quality Management Systemand Environmental Management System
To all certified clients and relevant parties,
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has published the new editions of ISO 9001 Quality management systems — Requirements and ISO 14001 Environmental management systems — Requirements with guidance for use. The new standards will supersede ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 respectively and serve as the certification criteria for the corresponding management‑system schemes.
In accordance with the standard transition requirements issued by the Global Accreditation Cooperation (Global ACI), distinct transition periods are established for the two‑standard migration:
1.The transition period for ISO 9001:2026 shall end on 30 September 2029. Upon expiry of this transition period, quality management system certificates issued to ISO 9001:2015 (corresponding to GB/T 19001‑2016) shall become automatically invalid.
2.The transition period for the new‑edition ISO 14001 shall end on 30 April 2029. Upon expiry of this transition period, environmental management system certificates issued to ISO 14001:2015 (corresponding to GB/T 24001‑2016) shall become automatically invalid.
Organizations holding legacy‑version certificates shall complete standard migration and certificate conversion prior to the applicable transition‑period deadline for each respective system. To facilitate the orderly implementation of the QMS and EMS certification standard migration and sustain the ongoing validity of certificates for certified organizations, Beijing Huaxia Juxing Quality Certification Co., Ltd. (HJC) hereby issues the following announcement regarding the validity of certificates issued against GB/T 19001‑2016/ISO 9001:2015 and GB/T 24001‑2016/ISO 14001:2015:
1.All quality management system certificates issued in accordance with GB/T 19001‑2016/ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems — Requirements shall not extend beyond 30 September 2029.
2.All environmental management system certificates issued in accordance with GB/T 24001‑2016/ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management systems — Requirements with guidance for use shall not extend beyond 30 April 2029.
3.HJC has commenced preparatory activities for migration to the new editions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Subsequent certification‑migration activities will be performed in compliance with the accreditation transition schemes published by CNAS and IAS. Further updates will be communicated via separate announcements.
4.All certified organizations are requested to carry out advance migration planning, including identification of changes in new‑edition standard requirements, management‑system‑document revision, personnel training, internal audit and management review. Standard‑migration assessment may be integrated with annual surveillance audit or recertification audit; alternatively, a dedicated transition‑only audit may be arranged.
Important Note: For clients holding both QMS and EMS certification certificates, the two transition deadlines differ. Priority should be given to Environmental Management System migration to prevent the expiry and invalidation of EMS certificates on 30 April 2029.
